
VOGO Industries, a special ship manufacturing company, said it held an agreement ceremony with Daejin Union of Fishermen in Samcheok-si to establish a special ship factory in Daejin Port.
The agreement calls for VOGO Industries to use about 6,600㎡ of land reclaimed in Daejin Port in Samcheok as a site for a special ship-building plant, and to provide the Daejin Union of Fishermen with development fund every year until 2031.
Mr. Daeyoung MAENG, CEO of VOGO Industries, said, “We have signed an agreement with Daejin Union of Fishermen in Samcheok-si to build the factory and promote the regional development.” He added, “The site for building special boats is located in the sea, so we can immediately demonstrate various special ships and lead to much faster modernization of the aging ships anchored at Daejin Port.”
Meanwhile, VOGO Industries is considered the world’s third-largest company in terms of development, production and export of small submersibles. It has technology of design and production of more than 330 small special boats using fiber reinforced plastics (FRP), aluminum and carbon fibers, and is leading the Korean market of manned submersibles that employ lithium batteries and electric propellants.
